Forum: classic_tv Subject: I'm terrified

During the night I watched 7 television episodes. I wanted to watch more, but I can only watch so much. I watched four episodes of "Dennis the Menace", 2 episodes of "The Army Game" (late-1950s/early 1960s UK sitcom), and 1 episode of "Executive Stress" (1980s UK sitcom).

But what I really wanted to watch is early Australian television (1956-1964).

Some nights ago I had a dream in which I watched this:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3374630/
I don't know if a copy of it still exists in real life. A Sydney newspaper commented that the broadcast (a 30-minute comedy one-off) was considered successful. Did the Australian Broadcasting Corporation bother to keep a copy?

The strange thing, most of the TV programs depicted in my dreams don't exist in real life, but on that occasion my dream depicted a real-life TV program, albeit one which I haven't seen.

I'm quite frankly terrified. Not sure what I am terrified of, but I am scared out of my mind.

During the night I had a daydream, very brief, depicting a hunting TV series produced on a distant planet. The hunter, resembling a 12-year old "Gaara", shot some bird-like creatures. In the daydream I uploaded the episode to YouTube. I had to explain that the hunter was an adult, that his race generally looks quite young (and are quite benevolent), but the people on YouTube wouldn't listen. They refused to listen. YouTubers are like that.

In real-life, I intend to upload some more "Four Star Playhouse" episodes as soon as the DVDs come in the mail and I watch them. I love that show. Some of the episodes are dated, but most are VERY GOOD.

I've been making IMDb pages for TV series previously not listed on IMDb, such as:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3738122/
This series was popular in Sydney, Australia during the late-1950s.

Now, if you excuse me, I am going to try to get some sleep...it's near 6:00AM where I live, and it usually takes me over an hour to get to sleep. But maybe I won't go to sleep and instead I'll stay up. I don't know.

Does anyone have any episodes of "Playhouse 15" to upload? No, not "90", but "15". "Playhouse 15" aka "Short Short Dramas" was a 15-minute American anthology series which was also exported to other countries (at the very least, exported to Australia).

Many years ago, I saw a TV episode with this scenario:

A has-been actor is approached by a mysterious individual who has a strange job for him. He is going to be paid to make one more episode of the TV show he starred in years ago.

It turns out that beings on another planet had been watching the series and were upset when it ended without proper closure.

Does anyone else remember this?

I remember seeing a show like that, which starred Darren McGavin as the actor. The TV show he had starred in was a detective show and the aliens wanted a final episode to tie things up. I can't recall which series it was on, but definitely remember the episode.

You're right!

Searching at IMDb for "Darren McGavin" yields:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0716935/combined

The series was "Tales from the Darkside" and the episode was "Distant Signals" (17 November 1985; Season 2, Episode 8).

Thanks.

This might not be right at all, but it sure sounds vaguely like an episode of the 1980s Amazing Stories series.

I believe there's an episode of Playhouse 15 titled "Equal Partners" on an Alpha Video DVD release of THE UNEXPECTED tv show. In other words, it's PD. And since Alpha Video apparently took their release of the movie WALK THE DARK STREET from the Internet Archive, turnabout is fair play. Yes?

Thanks...hopefully someone will upload the episode sourced from that DVD, or maybe I'll buy the DVD myself and rip the episode to upload here. Depends on whether I have enough money.

EDIT: I bought the DVD. I intend to watch it as soon as it comes in the mail and upload the episode of "Playhouse 15" if that is possible. Maybe also the episodes of "The Unexpected" if that if they are of acceptable quality. I just hope I haven't spend too much money...this week I am also planning to get some films developed and to buy two old editions of an early 1950s British magazine featuring rare TV listings

The links cannot be

The Passionate Pianist
http://tinyurl.com/mwzy4ot
TV listing mentioning it:
http://tinyurl.com/llmkfm9

Ardath Hit Parade...I got the information for it on a site which is only available to subscribers. Proving to IMDb that it existed was tough, I kinda cheated and used 3rd-rate links such as this:

I don't want to go to sleep. I'd much rather post links on here.

Such as this TV listing for Melbourne Australia from 1958:
